Mission Blue and the Hope Spot network approve expansion of the Argyll Coast & Islands Hope Spot

Argyll Coast & Islands Hope Spot have shared on social media that for the the first time, an internationally recognised Hope Spot designation now covers an area from the open ocean to inland sea lochs, representing ‘an entire system that is interconnected’.

The addition of Loch Linnhe, Loch Leven, and Loch Eil to the Hope Spot was driven forward by coastal community groups MacColl and Loch Leven Sea Savers, who have been gathering data to support the better conservation and management of their local areas, including regarding pollution from septic tank overflows.
