Water Magazine: Dry weather sees water scarcity spread further across Scotland
Water Magazine referenced SEPA’s water scarcity report in their own article on 17 July 2026: “SEPA’s water scarcity report this week shows that the number of catchments affected continues to grow, with four additional areas moving into Moderate Scarcity and nine more reaching Early Warning.”
Eilidh Johnston, SEPA Senior Leader in Compliance, is quoted as saying:
“Scotland’s climate is changing, and periods of prolonged dry weather are becoming an increasingly important challenge for our rivers and the businesses that rely on taking water directly from the environment.”
